The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of recreational games practice on selected physiolological variables of mentally challenged children. For this study, 30 male mentally challenged children were selected from Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education unit, Gorakhpur (U.P). The selected subjects were divided into two groups, 15subjects in each group boys treated as experimental group. These 15 subjects had under gone with recreational games training designed by the researcher, five days a week for eight weeks and 15 boys treated as control group. The control group was not participated any specific training programme. The following variables were selected for the study such as physiological variables namely vital capacity and body mass index. The training period was for eight weeks except Saturday and Sunday of every week. All subjects were tested prior to training and after completion of eight weeks of training on the selected variable. To analyze the collected data investigator used t’ ratio to find out the significant of the difference between the mean of pre and post test of the group. Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was applied to determine the significance of mean difference between the two groups. The experimental group shows significant difference than the control group after eight weeks recreational games training in all the selected variables.
