Abstract
Hybrid higher education, which blends online and offline learning, is reshaping India’s educational system and offers strong potential for developing employability skills among students. It provides flexible learning opportunities, wider access to skill-based courses, exposure to digital tools, and better connections between academia and industry, helping students build essential skills such as digital literacy, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. However, major challenges remain, including digital inequality, poor internet access, insufficient teacher training, lack of practical learning, and a mismatch between curriculum and industry needs. To fully realize the benefits of hybrid education for employment, India must strengthen digital infrastructure, improve faculty competencies, update curricula, and ensure equitable access for all learners.
