A Comparative Study between Morning and Evening sessions of Ardh Kumbhak on Pulmonary function of selected groups of College going Girls.

Abstract
This study aims to compare the effects between morning and evening session of Ardh Kumbhak practice on selected
pulmonary function of selected groups of College going Girls. 30 College going girl students were selected for the study age
ranged from year 16 to 25. Selected pulmonary function test under consideration was vital capacity. Spirometer was used to
meaure vital capacity. 30 girl students were distributed in two equal randomly assigned groups of 15-15 each to practice Ardh
Kumbhak (External and Internal) in morning and evening session for eight weeks. Observations were made twice before the
Ardh Kumbhak sessions started (Pre-test) and after the eight weeks of Ardh Kumbhak sessions (Post-test). To compare Pre-test
and Post-test data of vital capacity between one group of morning session and one group of evening session Paired and
Independent t-test was applied at 0.05 level of significance. To calculate the collected data SPSS and MS-EXCEL 2007 were used.
Results and conclusions: The results revealed that significance difference were found between the post-test data of vital capacity
and between Pre-test and Post-test data of Morning and evening session on vital capacity of College going Girls and Ardh
Kumbhak practice in morning sessions are more beneficial than evening session to improve pulmonary functions of College going
Girls.
