Abstract
Objective: To determine the effect of eight weeks yogic training on resting pulse rate.
Design: Experimental group participated in a training programme of ujjayi pranayama for a period of 8 weeks and control group was not expose to any kind of training programme.
Participants and Result: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of eight weeks yogic training on resting pulse rate. The subjects were 30 female students of B.P.E. at Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education Gwalior. The subjects were ranging from 14 to 18 years of age. Depending upon the level of physical fitness subjects were divided into two groups i.e. experimental and control group. The training was given every day early in the morning. Selected physiological variable was Resting pulse rate. Pre & posttest data on selected physiological variable were recorded pre and after completion of 8 weeks of Pranayama timing of both the groups. The data on physiological variable was recorded with the help of standard procedure such as: Resting Pulse Rate by stop watch. In order to study the effect eight weeks yogic training on resting pulse rate.
Conclusions: The analysis of covariance statistical technique was employed to analyse the raw data at .05 level of significance from the finding it was observed that f-ratio was not found to be significant at 0.05 level in case of resting pulse rate.
