Abstract
This paper explores the psychological mechanisms underpinning team dynamics in basketball. Emphasis is placed
on group cohesion, collective efficacy, social network structures, shared leadership, cognitive coordination, psychological
safety, motivation, and the impact of time-pressure decisions. It integrates theoretical perspectives—such as Kurt Lewin’s
group dynamics and Input–Process–Output (IPO) models—with empirical studies examining team behavior, communication,
and performance. The research reveals how trust, cohesion, role clarity, and network structures influence basketball teams’
success. Implications for coaching interventions, player development, and future research are discussed.
