Abstract
The formative years of school-going students are critical for musculoskeletal and physical development. In recent
years, there has been a noticeable rise in body deformities among children, including postural, spinal, and foot-related
conditions. These deformities, though often preventable, have profound implications for students’ health, physical
performance, and psychological well-being. This thematic research paper explores body deformities in school-going students
across five themes: (1) prevalence and types of deformities, (2) postural deformities, (3) spinal deformities, (4) foot
deformities, and (5) preventive and corrective strategies. By synthesizing existing research, the study underscores the
importance of school-based interventions, early screening, and physical education programs to mitigate long-term
consequences.
