Abstract
The present study aimed to compare the academic performance between residential and non-residential physical
education students. A sample of 300 students was selected, including 150 residential and 150 non-residential students. The
Academic Motivation Scale (AMS) and Palsane & Sharma Study Habits Inventory (PSSHI) were used to assess academic
motivation and study habits respectively. Academic performance was evaluated based on semester percentage scores.
Descriptive statistics and independent t-tests were employed for analysis. Results revealed that residential students performed
significantly better academically than non-residential students. The findings suggest that the residential environment contributes
positively to students’ academic success.
